At HER Project, we are committed to empowering young girls through resources and opportunities. With a focus on education, mentorship, and community engagement, we aim to uplift and inspire these girls, equipping them with the tools they need to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential. Through our dedicated efforts, we strive to create positive change, one girl at a time.
We aim to provide girls with the necessary resources and opportunities to thrive and succeed in their personal and academic lives. Through mentoring programs, workshops, and community outreach initiatives, we strive to uplift and inspire girls, creating positive change in their lives and the broader community. Our ultimate goal is to build a brighter future for girls and foster a sense of empowerment and self-confidence.
Kanita L. Stewart
Founder, Executive Director
Kanita education and professional background includes a Bachelor of Science from Wesley College, as well as a Masters in Administration of Justice from Wilmington University. With over 10 years of experience in youth development and community engagement, she has strived to help young ladies find their place in the world through experiences and resources. She took a leap of faith and founded HER Project in Dover, DE on the campus of Wesley College in 2017.
Kanita continues to be a catalyst of change in not only her organization but other organizations as well.

HER Project relies on the dedication of our volunteers to execute our programs, special events, and change campaigns. Volunteer assignments and time commitments vary. Internships are available. For leadership opportunities on the Advisory Council, please submit a resume.
